Cost of the course is $60 per person which includes course materials.
Participants who complete this 8 hour training will be certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid.
The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a five step action plan to help young people in crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD) and eating disorders.
Mental Health First Aid originated in Australia and today is being taught in 19 countries. Since its U.S. launch, the program has certified 3,000 instructors who have trained more than 100,000 people in all 50 states.
